FARMERSVILLE — Jennah Williams doubled and scored during the Van Alstyne Lady Panthers’ 11-1 loss against Farmersville in District 10-3A action on Tuesday, April 10.

Alyssa Taylor singled, Kinsey Lock drove in a run and Alyssa Jennings walked for Van Alstyne (2-19, 1-9).

The victory gave the Lady Farmers (11-6, 6-3) sole possession of third place.

Williams reached on an error to open the second inning but was erased on a double play.

The Lady Panthers loaded the bases in the third but couldn’t get on the board. Erin Dement reached on a one-out error, Taylor singled to center with two outs and Jennings walked after Taylor stole second. But Marysol Hernandez grounded out to end the inning.

Van Alstyne scored its run in the fourth to make it a 5-1 margin when Williams doubled to center to open the frame, went to third on Ameryss Brogdon’s groundout to second and Lock plated her with a groundout to shortstop.

Taylor reached on a two-out error in the fifth.

Farmersville took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and went up 5-0 in the third.

The Lady Farmers scored another run in the bottom of the fourth and then enacted the run-rule with five runs in the fifth.
