The Howe girls and the Van Alstyne boys won the 10-3A golf titles at the district tournament on Monday at Stone Creek Golf Course in Sherman.
They will be joined by the Whitewright girls team at the Class 3A Region II tournament April 23-26 at Oak Hurst Golf Course in Bullard.
Charlsee Carter led the Lady Bulldogs, who shot a combined 387, with an 85 to claim the individual title. Meradith Ross took second over teammate Molly Wilson after they both shot 98. Kriston Harris was fourth with a 100 and Peyton Streetman was seventh with a 109.
Whitewright shot a combined 480 and advanced ahead of third-place Leonard, which shot 482. Lauren Slough led the way with a 101, Eva Rau had a 114, Kelsey Hodgdon finished with a 132, Alexis Tillett was a shot back and Callie McGee carded a 154.
Leonard’s Charley Ashworth (102) and Ashley Klaus (114) are headed to regionals as the top two medalists.
On the boys side, Van Alstyne won with a total score of 350 while Commerce also qualified for regionals with a runner-up finish at 382.
Doak McDonald led the Panthers with an 80 to win the individual title while Brock Powers was the runner-up with an 86 and Blaine Urban tied for third with an 88.
Gage Proctor shot a 96 and Rhett Gallagher carded a 101.
Whitewright’s Will Stephens was the top medalist with a 92 and Leonard’s Blake Morgan also qualified for regionals as the second medalist with a 94.
Howe placed fifth and was led by Braden Monroe, who shot a 107. Jackson Wilson was next with a 114, Cody Brussow had a 117, Alex Kellum carded a 121 and Logan Elvington had a 124.
