VAN ALSTYNE — The Panthers roughed up Lone Oak, 89-38, in district 10-3A action on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Starting the game off a bit slow, Van Alstyne put up only 13 points in the opening minutes, but with lockdown defense by the Panthers, Lone Oak was held to an 8 point first. Samuel Tormos kicked off his impressive night with 7 points in the first.

The Panthers came out with fury in the second quarter, racking up 26 point in the quarter. After a quiet start by Noah Boling in the first, he broke out in the second with 11 point for Van Alstyne. Lone Oak put together a better offensive performance in the second with 16 point. Despite that, Van Alstyne ended the half with a confident 24-39 lead.

Van Alstyne was able to top their first half with a 29 point third quarter. Boling had a monstrous quarter with 17 points, 9 of them coming from behind the three-point line. Lone Oak was all but silenced by the Panther defense managing only 4 points.

Van Alstyne wrapped things up with a 21 point final quarter, while holding Lone Oak to 10 points. With the final buzzer, Van Alstyne won their final district match up going 7-2 on the year.

Boling finished the night with a staggering 42 points, Tormos followed with a hefty 25 point game.
