The Commerce Lady Tigers had too much firepower for the Lady Bulldogs to handle and the visitors made it a 3-0 sweep at Howe Tuesday night.

Senior Kayla Anderson got back into action after missing about four weeks with an ankle injury. Anderson put down a couple of kills in the first set and looked to be having no problems with her ankle.

“It felt fine, I was able to move laterally without any pain. I wish we could have done better but they have a good team," Anderson said.

Commerce had too many players who played strong at the net, sending in some impressive kills.

Mati Abner had three kills to open the second set and the teams were tied at 6-6 before the Lady Tigers went to work. The visitors built up a 14-6 lead before Abner had two more kills.

Trailing 12-17, Anderson sent in a hard line shot and had another kill later, but not enough offense on this night for the Lady Bulldogs. Kaylin Bouse, moved up to the varsity for this match, contributed a kill in the third set.

Commerce, or Farmersville, most likely will win this district and the Lady Tigers brought a lot of talent to Howe.

The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Lone Oak for a very crucial match on Sept. 16.
