Ronald Doyle Parks was born on December 15, 1956 in McKinney, Texas to Doyle and Mary Ellen Parks. He attended elementary and middle school in Melissa and high school in McKinney and was a lifelong member of Altoga Baptist Church. Ronald worked alongside his Dad for over thirty years in water utilities all over Collin County. Ronald also served on the Melissa I.S.D. School Board. Throughout his life, Ronald was passionate about hot rods, mud trucks and motorsports in general. For many years, you could find him at the mud pit races with his beloved mud truck, “Taz”. Ronald also loved the outdoors. After his retirement ten years ago, Ronald was able to enjoy cooking and his favorite pastime; watching his family, extended family and friends have a great time playing on their “toys” on the family land in Melissa.
Ronald was preceded in death by his Father, William Doyle Parks; Mother, Mary Ellen Parks; Sister, Judy Lynn Tait; Brother-in-law, Tommy Tait and nephew, Patrick Anthony Turner.
He is survived by his children: Son, Shanon (Amber) Parks; Daughter Tennille (Jamie) Murphy; Son, Dustin Parks. Grandchildren: Colton (Leah) Parks; Erin Parks; Daisha Mack (Liam Fuchs); John Parks; Matthew Parks; Hayden Murphy and Trysta Murphy. Great Grandchildren: Nora Parks; Caroline Parks; Jaxten Fuchs. Sister Peggy (Pat) Cottle; Nieces, Tamara Cottle; Ivonda Mobbs; Trynna (Trip) Roberts; Shelly Tait; Nephews, Vance (Anna) Cottle; Jon (Angie) Tait as well as many great and great/great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at Melissa cemetery on December 5th at 4:00 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, Texas.
Ronald was a wonderful Son, Father, Uncle, Bubba and Pops to many. He will be greatly missed.
