Robert Lee Giles
WESTMINSTER — Robert Lee Giles, 68, of Westminster died Thursday in McKinney.
Giles was born on Oct. 28, 1947 in Hillsboro to Alma Oleta and Archie Lee Giles. He attended Anna High School and worked for the city of Richardson for 23 years and enjoyed reading, fishing, playing dominoes and poker and was a great pool player. Robert was also a proud member of the American Legion Post 376.
Robert is survived by Billy Gail Giles; brother, Willie Carol Phillips; sister, Ginger Jones, Rebecca Moody, Robin Book; daughters, and Robert Keith Giles; son, Ryan Jones, Ashlee Minyard, Denise Giles, Maegan Sylvester, Alex Watkins, Mia Giles, and Lincoln Giles; grandkids, Ashton Jones, Zachary Jones, Emma Sylvester, Carter Sylvester, Kaylee Minyard, Silhouette Giles; and great-grandkids. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother Glen.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne Friday with burial to follow at Elm Grove Cemetery. A celebration of his life will follow at 4 p.m. at Cowboy’s Country Club. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
