Home developer K Hovnanian Homes hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony last week at one of their new model homes in Sanford Park, south of the Sanford Elementary School.
The developer has pulled a total of 13 building permits, two of which were issued in February, and built several homes. City Engineer Len McManus said one has been sold, and there are a total of 112 lots in this development. He said they are building as the market demands it.
New sub-development constructors have, by city ordinance, an option of building a park in their new neighborhoods or paying a set percentage to the city’s park development fund. McManus said that there will not be a park in this sub-development, as K Hovnanian Homes chose to pay the percentage instead.
The two homes for which building permits were issued in February are (1) at 312 Evans Drive, with 2,619 square feet, and (2) at 532 Vawter Drive, with 3,328 square feet. Both are shown on the building permit log as valued at less than $300,000.
K Hovnanian Homes is now in its 60th year of home building. According to their Website, khov.com, they have built homes across the nation. Their headquarters are in New Jersey, with a subsidiary location in the DFW metroplex.
