On Dec. 5 around 4:30 p.m., there was a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of North Main and east Jefferson. The intersection has stop signs requiring drivers to stop for through traffic.
Van Alstyne police and fire departments helped close off portions of the streets for to secure it for Texas Department of Public Safety troopers.
One of those vehicles was a Grayson County Sheriff’s Office patrol car driven by a deputy sheriff and the other was a 2008 Honda Accord driven by a woman.
According to officials at the scene, the Honda was going north and pulled out in front of the westbound patrol car which struck the Honda on the passenger side. Both drivers were seen to by Van Alstyne paramedics, and neither said they were injured. Both vehicles received minor damage.
DPS troopers were called to examine the wreck and make their report which is usual protocol when a law enforcement vehicle is involved in a crash.
