The Texoma Patriots will be hosting their third Meet the Candidates on Monday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. at Grandy’s in Sherman, 3201 Texoma Parkway, in the meeting room. The Patriots will be hearing from judges and justices running for office to help local citizens get to know these candidates a bit better.

Justice David Bridges will be attending; Judge Sharon Keller will be away; Judge Dib Waldrip no response; Jay Brandon, prior commitment; Judge Michelle Slaughter will be sending a surrogate due to a prior commitment; Judge Dan Wyde no response; John Browning will be attending; Tom Nowak will be attending; Jim Pikl will be attending; Perry Cockerell will be attending; William “Randy” Johnson will be attending.

The third branch of government has a lasting effect on the lives of citizens. It is extremely critical to vote informed! Join the Patriots to learn about the candidates and join the fellowship.

Meet the Candidates number four will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. at Buck Snort BBQ, 224 E. Jefferson in Van Alstyne — Jim will have his BBQ buffet open so come hungry!

Candidates confirmed are: Texas Senate District 30: Senator Craig Estes and Representative Pat Fallon; Texas Representative District 62: Reggie Smith, Brent Lawson, Kevin Couch and Valerie Hefner.

It’s not too late to buy your tickets for the Grayson Lincoln Reagan Dinner on Friday, Feb. 16. The honored guest and keynote speaker is the legendary Lou Holtz. The political keynote speaker is State Comptroller Glenn Hegar.

The Primary Election early voting will take place from Feb. 20 to March 2, with election day on March 6. Local elections will be held on May 5 and include mayor, city council and school board. The last day to apply for a place on the local election ballot it Feb. 16, and the last day to register to vote in your town municipal elections is April 5.

The Texoma Patriots March meeting will be held on Monday, March 12 at Buck Snort BBQ, 224 E Jefferson in Van Alstyne. The speaker will be Loren Spivack, founder of Free Market Warrior. He’ll discuss the benefits of limited government and free market capitalism.
