With the theme “Falling into Fall,” the Van Alstyne High School Jazz Band will host its first concert of the season on Thursday evening, Nov. 16, in the VAHS Cafeteria at 7:30 p.m., immediately following the public meeting to discuss boundaries for the new elementary school.

The jazz band students have been working hard to master jazz skills and techniques, and many of them have also been learning a second instrument as the band is patterned after “big band” style jazz bands, with only trumpets, trombones and saxophones as the wind instruments. Band director Tim Fulton is proud of the students for their hard work and excited for them to share their new talents.

The entire community is welcome to come out and enjoy the performance, along with complimentary coffee and refreshments.
