Another successful Homecoming week at Van Alstyne High School wrapped up last Friday with the crowning of King and Queen, Levi Jones and Alex Roddy. The Lady Panther volleyball team and Panther football team also pulled off wins on Friday to bring Homecoming week to a happy end.

Michael Hensley

Michael is the son of Mike Sr. and Cindy Hensley. He has two sisters, Kristen and Allison. Michael will have played football and basketball for four years. He was selected to the All-District team in football, as well as being selected to the TABC All-Region team in basketball and 2nd team at the state basketball tournament last year. Michael has been active in the FCA and plans to attend college and play football. He wants to major in agri-business.

Koi Beck

Koi is the son of Liz and Lee Rabon. He has a sister named Benell and a brother named Dre’. Koi has played football for four years. He has also been involved with FCA for four years. He also competes with the Culinary team. Koi hopes to attend LSU and major in business.

Mason Adams

Mason is the son of Larry and Lynn Adams. He has a brother named Tyler. Mason has played football for four years. He also is a member of the basketball and track teams. Mason has been a member of the Ready Set Teach Class and participates in the UIL competition. Mason plans to attend Ole Miss and major in business.

Levi Jones

Levi is the son of Todd Jones, and the nephew of Stacy Wickersham. He has been on varsity track and football since his sophomore year. He has qualified for regional track two years in a row, and was a part of a district championship his junior year. Last year he was the track MVP and Panther Football Offensive MVP. Levi plans to go to college and major in nursing. After nursing school he plans on joining the Navy as a nurse and work on becoming a nurse practitioner while serving.

Shelby Litzkow

Shelby is the daughter of Shane and Melissa Litzkow. She has two brothers Cameron and Ethan. Shelby has played varsity volleyball for four years. She was named All District Player of the Year her junior year. Shelby has been a part of the FCA, PALS, and NHS for four years. Shelby hopes to attend Baylor University and major in interior design.

Alex Roddy

Alex is the daughter of Derek and April Roddy. She has two siblings, her brother Dylan and her sister Addyson. She has participated in band all four years. Alex has been the Drum Major her junior year and senior year. She is an avid musician who has learned more than five different instruments during her high school career. Alex has made state solo and ensemble since her freshman year. She also has participated in the All-Region Symphonic Band her sophomore and junior years. She would like to thank her band family for providing her with so many wonderful experiences. After high school, Alex plans to attend the University of North Texas to pursue a degree in music education as well as music theory and composition. Presenting her flowers is her brother Dylan.

Peyton Welch

Peyton is the daughter of Darin and Lori Welch. She has a sister, Micah who is a freshman at VA. Peyton has been on varsity volleyball and softball since her freshman year. The volleyball team advanced to the Regional Semi-Finals her sophomore and junior years. Peyton has been selected to the All-District Team for two years. She has also been a part of the softball team that has made the playoffs every year, and Peyton was awarded several different titles throughout her career. She was Newcomer of the Year her freshman year, first team all-district her sophomore and junior years. She also was named to the second team All-Texomaland her junior year. Peyton has been a member of NHS and PALS since her junior year, and is vice president of PALS this year. Peyton plans to attend Cameron University next year to play softball. She wants to major in accounting and get a minor in finance. Presenting her flowers is her sister Micah.

DeAngelo Alexander

 

DeAngelo is the son of Jennifer and Justin Morrison. He has a brother Donte and a sister Dai’Sha. DeAngelo has participated football, basketball, tennis and track for four years. His sophomore year he was a regional qualifier for tennis. DeAngelo was voted 2nd Team All-District receiver for football his junior year. In track, he was district champ in 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, and high jump. DeAngelo also qualified for regional track his sophomore and junior years. He has been a part of the FCA for four years. DeAngelo plans to attend college and play football while majoring in education and become a coach one day.

Sadie Ingram

 

Sadie is the daughter of Kes and Jeremy Ingram. She has one sister Sydney. Sadie has been a part of the volleyball team for four years, basketball for three years, and varsity track for four years. She was a part of the volleyball teams who made it to regional semi-finals her sophomore and junior years. In track she has made it to regionals in several events her freshman and sophomore years. She also made it to regional finals her junior year. She was voted MVP for two years. Sadie has been involved in SOS Club, NHS, and PALS for two years. She is currently the president of PALS. She plans to attend college and run track. She wants to major in kinesiology and become a physical therapist. Presenting Sadie with her flowers is her sister Sydney.

Chloe Houston

Chloe is the daughter of Chris Houston. She has two sisters, Corrina and Kyley, and one brother Tyler. Chloe has participated in cheerleading for four years. Chloe has participated in powerlifting for three years, where she was Regional Champion and went to state where she finished eigth. At cheer camp, Chloe made the All-American Team, and also received an invitation to try-out for the Universal Cheer Association.
