Divorce is widespread. Throughout the community people are hurting from the pain caused by separation and divorce. DivorceCare is a biblically-based, non-denominational program designed to minister to the long-lasting, persistent needs of those people who are separated, in the process of a divorce, or have been divorced. DivorceCare is a seminar/small group support program.

DivorceCare ministry sessions will begin on Wednesday evening, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Van Alstyne. First Baptist Church of Van Alstyne is located at 121 E. Marshall St. (SE corner of Hwy. 5 and Marshall St.) in Van Alstyne. The sessions will be held each Wednesday evening for 13 weeks led by Jack Washington. Each weekly session is designed to be self-contained, so missing a weekly session during the 13-week period will not be disruptive.

The 13-week video based program features respected Christian experts sharing their insight and wisdom on topics important to separated/divorced people. The DivorceCare program also includes personal testimonies from people who have been through divorce. Each person attending will receive a workbook which will directly correspond to the video seminars with a note-taking outline for each video session, a daily Bible study on topics introduced on the videos, and a weekly journaling section. The cost of a workbook is $15. The workbook is yours to keep.

The 13 DivorceCare sessions are free of charge.
