HOWE — The Bulldogs are preparing for another baseball season but will do so with a new coach after a successful 2017 season that saw the Bulldogs go 8-6 in District 10-3A and make it to the playoffs, where they lost out to state semifinalist Whitesboro.
Under new head coach James Beebe and with some key pieces returning, the Bulldogs hope to continue the success in 2018.
Beebe will have the slick glove and hot bat of first team All-district Payton Reagan returning along with Mason Riggs, who won the district’s Newcomer of the Year award in 2017 will be ready to go to work in this coming season.
“Not knowing the district very well, I would like to think that we will be competitive,” Beebe said of his 2018 outlook. “I think we have a lot of good, younger kids. We are trying to get to know each other, and play as a team. The team seems to be buying into what were are doing. We as coaches just need to find out how best to utilize the talent we have.”
