HOWE — An impactful performance by Howe senior Ty Harvey would give the Bulldogs the push they needed to win a district nail biter, 63-59, against Lone Oak at home on, Friday, Dec. 15.
Harvey ended the night with 20 points, sinking 7 of his 15 total shots. Harvey would have the back up he needed with a 15 point performance by freshman Noah Campbell — Campbell would get 9 of those points from three, where he sunk three of his eight attempts.
Howe junior Elijah Campbell couldn’t miss from beyond the arch. Campbell went 2-2 in shots taken from the three and ended the night with 7 total points.
The Bulldogs also proved that a hot-handed offensive play isn’t the only thing you need to win a close district game. Harvey ended the night with 15 total rebounds and 4 blocks on would-be Lone Oak scorers.
The Bulldogs ended the night with 23 total defensive rebounds, 17 assists, 6 steals and 8 turnovers. The boys showed aggressive play on both sides of the court in the hard-earned win.
The Howe Bulldogs hope to take this pristine play against district opponent Whitewright on, Jan. 2.
