VAN ALSTYNE — The Lady Panthers shined against Commerce, winning the contest, 62-32, on Monday, Dec. 18. This win puts the Van Alstyne girls at 2-1 in district play.

Van Alstyne started the game off hot, scoring 21 points in the first quarter. Meanwhile the Lady Panther defense held Commerce to only 3 points of production in the quarter. This would put the Van Alstyne girls in the drivers seat as they went on to outscore Commerce for the remainder of the game, gliding smoothly to a second district win.

The Lady Panthers and head coach Tyler Dyer will hope to build on this performance during tournament play in the Kaufman Classic, which begins on Thursday, Dec. 28.
