Panther Alumni Collegiate Updates


Hannah Fernandez, Texas Tech, Soccer


Hannah Fernandez started her junior season off with a bang for the Red Raiders. She scored a late goal in the opening game of the season that would turn out to be the game winner. She was having a solid season before suffering a season ending ACL tear.


Evan McQuirk, University of Central Oklahoma, Cross Country


The 2013 Texas 3A State Champion in cross country is in his senior year at UCO. He has had been plagued with injury issues through much of this season, however, he has continued to push through. He has competed in two meets this season and is preparing to run in the upcoming conference meet. Evan earned U.S. Track and Field Coaches All Academic Honors last season for his high grade point average and finishing in the top 30% of runners.


Jacob Taylor, Cowley College, Cross Country


Jacob is in his first year of running at Cowley College, in Kansas. Jacob has posted a top 50 run at meet and sits in the 7th position out of 16 on his team. His best time of the season is a 28:34 in the 8K run. He will be running at the national meeting in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Nov. 11.


Hannah Taylor, Rogers State, Cross Country


Hannah is in her first year of running at Rogers State University in Oklahoma. In the majority of races she has finished in third place on her team. Her best time is a 19:35 in the 5K womens run. In the preview of the season on the Rogers State website, the coach had this to say about Hannah, “We have a newcomer, Hannah Taylor from Texas, who has really been on fire in practice, I expect her to be one of the best freshmen we’ve had in a long time. She’ll help us and then there’s everyone behind them.”


Hannah Morris, Southern Methodist University, Pom and Dance


Hannah Morris an acclaimed and accomplished ballet dancer has made a transfer to the sidelines of SMU Mustangs. A sophomore at the Dallas university, she is on the Pom and Dance team as part of the cheer program at the school.


Ellie Perkins, Arkansas Tech University, Volleyball


Ellie is a sophomore middle hitter on the Golden Suns. The team is experiencing a great season and have a currently on a 20 game win streak! She has appeared in 14 of the team’s matches and registering 12 kills.


Mason Adams, Hendrix University, Football


Mason is a freshman defensive end on the Hendrix football team, he is playing in the same position that he stood out in as a Van Alstyne Panther. Mason has been seeing time on the field since day one of the season, and being placed on the travel team. Mason has had four tackles on the season and this past week against Birmingham Southern registered his first quarterback sack.


Levi Jones, Hendrix University, Football


Levi was a standout running back and speedster on the track in his time as a Panther. As a freshman on the collegiate field, Levi is seeing time on the field on special teams and in the return game. Currently he is 7th on the Hendrix team in all purpose yards with 182 yards primarily on kickoff returns.


Howe Alumni Collegiate Update


Tanner Hartsfield, Hendrix College, Football


Part of the trio at Hendrix known as the “Grayson County boys”, along with Mason Adams and Levi Jones. Tanner is listed as a linebacker on the Hendrix team and saw action this past weekend, registering his first tackle for the Orange and Black.


Darci Foster, Lubbock Christian, Cross Country.


Darci, the former standout basketball player and runner for Howe High School, is a sophomore runner at Lubbock Christian University. Her time in the women’s 5k at cross country is consistently in the 24 minute area. She will be running in the Heartland Conference finals on October 21st in Wichita, Kansas.
