CADDO MILLS — The Lady Panthers have been staying busy this summer break with back to back games against Commerce and Royce City on Monday evening. The team broke even as Van Alstyne High School went home with a 14-16 victory over Commerce and a loss to Royce City.

Varsity players Breanna McCaskill and Maegan Thomas highlighted the competitions against Commerce and Royce City for Van Alstyne on Monday. The Lady Panthers have been fine tuning their skills on the court against rival teams this spring, and their hard work continues as they enter the final two weeks of the Caddo Mills Spring League competition.

“Hopefully it all translates into the fall and winter,” Lady Panthers Head Coach Tyler Dyer said of the work the team has been putting in since the beginning of summer break. “That’s the plan.”

While the spring league will end on July 3, the summer competition is just picking up for the Lady Panthers as the team heads into the summer league. After the spring league concludes the Lady Panthers will next play in the Whitesboro Summer League in July.
