The Van Alstyne Middle School seventh graders wrapped up their season on Nov. 7 with a tough loss to Farmersville. Coach Kenny Lamb said he was proud of his squad’s effort this season.
"Just wanted to express to our players and parents how much we enjoyed the season this year," said Lamb. "The Farmersville game was a tough loss. Our kids played really hard, and again we faced a team that had an outstanding running back and quarterback. I was really pleased with the way our offense moved the football. I thought Boone Bonnema and Ben Williams really ran the ball hard [and] Gage Proctor had one of his best games throwing the football. Waylen Beare, Tyler Wilson, and Sam Rimpel played extremely good on defense.
"It has been a true pleasure to work with these kids," added Lamb. "I cannot express enough how our coaches have enjoyed the year. When you look up and its November and time has passed fast it has been a fun year. I sure hope the kids learned not only football, but also somethings to help them in other parts of their lives. Thank You so much for an amazing year. "
