The first, and hopefully annual, Howe Invitational Cross Country Meet was held at the high school on Oct. 5 with runners from 10 schools competing.

Light rain and cool temperatures provided a welcome relief from the humid conditions of the past week, and the Lady Bulldogs took advantage to win the team championship in the varsity division.

Darci Foster finished third and Bailey Tyler was fifth to lead the team to the win.

Brandon Wall had the top finish for the Howe varsity boys, finishing seventh as the team took second place.
