The African Children's Choir has performed before presidents, heads of state and most recently the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II, for her diamond jubilee.
Now the choir will perform Sunday in Amarillo. They will sing and dance at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at Eastridge Baptist Church, 1300 Evergreen St.
The choir also has sung alongside such artists as Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox, Keith Urban, Mariah Carey and Michael W. Smith. The choir's program features well-loved children's songs, traditional spirituals and gospel favorites.
Performances support African Children's Choir programs such as education, care, and relief and development. The African Children's Choir is a nonprofit humanitarian and relief organization dedicated to helping Africa's most vulnerable children today so they can help Africa tomorrow, according to an email.
Music for Life is the parent organization for the African Children's Choir, and it works in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa. Music for Life has educated more than 52,000 children.
There are no tickets for Sunday's performances but donations are appreciated.
