Van Alstyne Police Chief Tim Barnes reported that between Dec. 11-18, officers responded to five incidents, made one arrest and dispatch took 225 calls for service.
Burglary of building — On Dec. 11, officers began the investigation into the theft of a tool case, the tools inside it, and a jumper box, taken from beneath a carport in the 400 block of West Fulton.
Arrest — On Dec. 13 at about 2:30 p.m. police were called to a home in the 400 block of Miller Lane. Barnes said the incident was a verbal assault, but that police learned that the suspect had a warrant against him, issued in Collin County. They served it against the 23-year-old Van Alstyne resident and took him to jail.
Theft — On Dec. 15, someone took a fishing pole from a front yard in the 1200 block of N. John Douglas Road. Barnes said this theft falls in the category of theft of property between $100-$750.
