A fifth person has died from injuries related to the five-vehicle wreck in Westminster.
Heather Trimble, 24, of Ivanhoe, died on Thursday, from injuries sustained in the wreck that also killed two Anna teenagers on June 6.
A GoFundMe page said Trimble was eight months pregnant. She was rushed to the hospital along with her 4-year-old daughter. Trimble delivered a baby girl, but never regained consciousness.
The newborn and 4-year-old are doing well, the family reports.
Both Trimble’s parents, Wayne Trimble, 51, and Julie Trimble, 51, from Ivanhoe, Texas, also died at the scene.
The accident happened on State Highway 121 near County Road 528 when a Pontiac Grand Prix carrying four teens slowed down on State Highway 121. Lonny Haschel with Texas Highway Patrol said the Pontiac was struck from behind by a red Dodge pickup truck. That initial accident started a chain reaction of accidents.
The two Anna teens that also died in the accident were Abigail Kendall, 15, and Brianna Gesino, 15.
The Texas Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash to determine a cause.
