Wrong way crash on U.S. 75 – A wrong way female driver going northbound on U.S. 75 in the southbound lane struck a number of vehicles, sending three people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. “The driver will be facing numerous charges against her,” Van Alstyne Police Chief Tim Barnes said. The name of the driver was not released since she has not been charged yet.

Protective order violation – On Oct. 17 officers took a report of a protective order violation in the 400 block of W. Marshall. The case is under investigation according to Barnes.

DWI arrest – On Oct. 15 at 12:44 a.m. a Van Alstyne man was arrested on Carrie Lane for DWI, misdemeanor B.

DWI arrest – On Oct.16 a traffic stop on Henry Hines Expressway resulted in a DWI, misdemeanor B, arrest of a woman from Canada.

DWI arrest – A call on a reckless driver on Oct. 10 traveling on southbound U.S. 75 near County Line Road resulted in a DWI arrest of an individual from McKinney.

Reckless driver call – On Oct. 7 officers received a call on a reckless driver on U.S. 75. The vehicle was located near County Line Road and a St. Paul, Texas resident was arrested for DWI, his second, and for open container in a vehicle.

During the past two weeks officers responded to 14 incidents and the department received 339 calls for service.
