The Van Alstyne Baccalaureate service, sponsored by the Van Alstyne Ministerial Alliance, was held May 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Van Alstyne High School campus. Student Pastor at First Baptist Church of Van Alstyne Jace Williamson served as this year’s speaker. Graduates were given the chance to participate in the service by reading passages from the Bible, offering prayers and performing music.

“The Baccalaureate service has always been a chance to give thanks to God in this special time of year, to encourage and challenge graduates through the act of worship, this has not changed,” the Alliance’s Facebook page said.
