CHAPPEL HILL — Wanda Jo Speck Moore, age 89, entered her eternal heavenly home with her Lord and Savior on November 26, 2017 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Chappell Hill, Texas. Wanda was born January 10, 1928 in Tioga, Texas to Norman Claud (N.C.) Speck and Ollie Mae Speck.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents N.C. and Ollie Mae Speck of Gunter, five brothers, Carl Speck, M.L. Speck, and Eldon Speck all of Gunter. Claude Speck of Sherman, Charles Speck of Killeen and two sisters, Gladys Speck Canada, and Winnie Speck Arrington both of Sherman, husband, Wayne Moore of Denison as well as her son, R. Larry Richards of South Padre Island.
After graduation from Tioga High School in 1945, Wanda moved to Dallas to attend business school. It was in Dallas that she met and married Billy Gene Richards in 1947 and they had two children, Larry and Lana. Wanda enjoyed a long career as an executive secretary. Most of her career was spent working at Chance Vought, later known as Ling Temco Vought (LTV) in Grand Prairie. After a divorce in 1971, Wanda met and married Wayne Moore of Pottsboro in 1974. She retired from LTV and moved to Pottsboro where she enjoyed fishing with Wayne, a guide on Lake Texoma. In 1980 they built a home and moved to Denison where Wanda worked at various jobs over the next several years including Denison Chamber of Commerce, Texas Insturments, Texoma Regional Council and Wilson N. Jones Hospital. She retired from Wilson N. Jones Hospital in 1993. She loved traveling, watching horse racing, football, baseball and cooking and entertaining family.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Lana McDaniel and son-in-law, Charles McDaniel, of Chappell Hill, daughter-in-law, Fran Richards of South Padre Island, three grandsons, Shawn Elliott of San Antonio, Trevor Richards and wife, Tina, of Prosper, Charlie McDaniel, Jr. of Houston, three granddaughters, Vanessa Sharp and husband, Jeremy, of Richardson, Tina McDaniel and Taylor McDaniel both of Houston, and five great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews whom she loved so much.
Wanda was a member of Parkside Baptist Church of Denison where she loved volunteering, being an active part of Pacesetters and traveling with them on their many trips. She loved the close friendships made with the ladies of her Sunday school class, The Love Class.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 10:30AM at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne officiated by Jerry Coffman, Senior Adult Minister of Parkside Baptist Church.
