You know that 20 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms in the forecast for March 27? Well, 100 percent of that fell on the Whitewright High School football field and track that afternoon, washing out the final six events of the Tiger Relays.
The Lady Bulldog’s scored 60.5 points in the meet, 40 of those coming as a result of first place finishes by the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams.
Howe finished third on the girls side, seven points in back of Whitewright, and both were chasing Melissa which repeated as meet champions.
Addison Hughes finished third in the 800-meter run and Bailey Tyler got a third place finish in the high jump to provide highlights for the Lady Bulldogs.
Tyler Nicholson won the pole vault, while Zach Lea finished third in the triple jump to lead the boys team, which finished fifth in the meet.
The team’s next competition will come in the District 11-2A meet in Pottsboro April 9-10 as they go up against a strong contingent from Pottsboro.
